The year is 1984.
Australian kids have gone mad over PJ, Goose and Judy.
Cruising the streets of Bowden-Brompton, Adelaide, is our very own pack of BMX Bandits.
They are:
Royce, George, Jodie, Scott, Paul, Jamie, Darren, Jason and Brenton.
Their turf:
Green Street Playground track - but not enough jumps so they take to the streets.
It was wondered, "where will the Bandits be in the year 2001?!!!".
So where were the Bandits in 2001 and where are they now? The Bandits would now be 35 to 40 years of age and we are asking for your help in tracking them down!
This story is just one of many that the City of Charles Sturt is hoping to uncover as part of a history walking route through the suburb of Brompton.
Post a comment to share your stories of the Bandits, and to leave clues to help us find them!

Hi All,
It's good to see the boys again. Ah, the memories. I too grew up in Brompton, having lived there for 34 years. I remember Darren, who was a good friend of mine back at primary school. It is refreshing too see such things and would like to see more on the characters (the Goat man), events (the successful picketing of the proposed highway through Brompton)and places of Brompton. Keep up the good work. You can take the boy out of Brompton, but you can't take Brompton out of the boy!!!
Cheers

Hi All,
Royce here. I am 37 years old, married with no children and living in Beverley. Working as a Sheet Metal Worker for the last 10 years also in Beverley. Last saw George about 2 years ago at Underdale and saw Scotty about 6 years ago at the footy. Both havent changed a bit. Life has been good to me so far.
Would love to catch up with the old gang.
Cheers Royce

hello people,
would like to see an overall history of Brompton. My brother and I, 68 and 64, were born in East street, Brompton, near the gasworks and spent a lot of time playing in the pugholes. We enjoyed living in Brompton and our mother always said all the nice people lived there.
